Long Island City has a biergarten (“beer garden”, in American) and it’s occasionally fantastic.
It’s spacious, it has benches, and it serves deliciously huge glasses of beer for a great price. The beer selection is mostly light beer on tap but they have a large selection of bottles from around the world as well.
However, the menu’s list of delicious fare lives up to expectation in all ways except the portion sizes. Why would a biergarten serve medium-small pretzels? Combine that with the fact that sometimes they play music softly and let people’s conversations be the background noise, and sometimes they blast the music way too loudly, the biergarten ends up being only occasionally fantastic.
