A hole-in-the-wall seafood restaurant in Cambridge with amazing food, a cozy atmosphere, and incredible oysters.
The Red House, located near Harvard, used to offer the best oyster happy hour in Boston — $0.50 oysters before 4pm and after 9pm. Unfortunately, that deal is no longer available, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t worth stopping by.
With a small wooden interior and an outdoor deck, you can enjoy your oysters and wine indoors beside a wood fireplace or outdoors under the stars.
For fun, start things off with Oyster Shooters, shot glasses filled with vodka, bloody Mary, and an oyster.
The Seafood Towers deliver ample oysters, mussels, shrimp, and ceviche. I found the clams a little difficult to eat, which is probably why they’ve since removed them from the tower. I’d recommend the tower for any celebration.
Order the Grilled Octopus for a delicious sweet and smoky BBQ flavor over a roasted red pepper sauce that works really well.
The salty sweet Lobster Raviolis with sweet potatoes are amazing. They’re served with a tangy citrus sauce and shredded Parmesan cheese.
All of the food here is perfect, which will keep you coming back.
The Red House is located at 98 Winthrop St, Cambridge, MA
