This new restaurant in Lynnfield MA has a a fun setting, friendly staff, and great sushi. However, some of the items on the ecclectic menu come out less fancy that you expect.
We started off with some nigiri and sashimi and were not disappointed, with the ample sizes of the cuts of delicious fish.
We also got the Torro Carpaccio, which is Bluefin tuna belly sliced thin, and served with a delicious wasabi mustard soy sauce. It was amazing.
For sides, we got the kale caesar salad and the caramelized onion and marrow dip. For the dip, we expected something fancy that emphasized the marrow flavors, but instead got what seemed like an average french onion dip. It was tasty, but not as fancy as expected.
For the main course, we went for the Long Bone Angus Beef Ribeye, and opted for the additional Siberian sturgeon caviar. Unfortunately they informed us they were out of the ribeye, but they substituted two large steaks and threw in the caviar for free as an apology, which was very nice of them.
The steak came out on a big cutting board which was a nice touch. The steak was topped with their coriander chimichurri sauce, with sides of roasted radishes and roasted garlic potatoes. The meat was cooked well, but the chimichurri sauce was heavy on the greenery and citrus and was too acidic for my taste, so when eating with a piece of steak it totally took over the flavor. It didn’t complement the salty and savory steak flavors like a good chimichurri topping is supposed to.
The caviar was amazing, with a rich, semi-buttery flavor. We found out you can order it from Island Creek Oysters.
